1.58

經曰　「十二因緣本從因果，因果所起興於心行，心尚不有何況有身？若有我者令滅有見，若無我者令滅無見。」

The sūtra says: "The twelve links of dependent origination fundamentally originate from cause and fruition. That which cause and fruition produce arises from mental activities. If the mind does not even exist, how could there be a body? If there is a self, have them extinguish the view of existence; if there is no self, have them extinguish the view of non-existence."
