論曰：此下大分第四入之方便。入方便者，位在地前四位，理入門內方便觀也。於中有二：先明能入方便、後顯方便勝利。初中亦二：先略、後廣。略中先問，問中亦二：一領於前、二問於後。領中言無際者，心體無際故。無涯者，智用無涯故。

The commentary says: What follows is the fourth major section, on the expedients of entry. The expedients of entry are the contemplative expedients within the gate of entry through principle, which are situated in the four ranks prior to the grounds. Within this there are two parts: first, clarifying the expedients capable of entering; second, revealing the superior benefits of the expedients. The first part also has two parts: first, concise; second, extensive. In the concise part, there is first a question; within the question there are also two parts: first, apprehending what came before; second, asking about what comes after. In the apprehension, "limitless" refers to the limitless essence of the mind, and "boundless" refers to the boundless function of cognition.
