3.128

經曰　地藏菩薩言：「一切諸法云何不緣生？」爾時如來欲宣此義而說偈言：「若法緣所生，離緣可無法；云何法性無，而緣可生法？」

The sūtra says: Bodhisattva Kṣitigarbha said: 'Why are all dharmas not conditioned-produced?' At that time, the Tathāgata, wishing to declare this meaning, spoke a verse, saying: / 'If a dharma were produced by conditions, / Apart from conditions there could be no dharma; / How could the nature of dharmas be non-existent, / Yet conditions could produce a dharma?'
