二來意，亦二：一遠答普光隨喜心等十句問故、二近顯菩薩應機所在故也。又前品賢首剎等皆是淨土菩薩充滿，未知娑婆染界為有菩薩以不？今辨此界亦有無量菩薩所住，故次來也。

Second, the purpose of its occurrence also has two [aspects]: first, distant, to answer the ten phrases of questions asked at Universal Light regarding the rejoicing mind and so forth; second, proximate, to reveal the places where bodhisattvas respond to capacities. Furthermore, in the preceding chapter, the Bhadramukha realm and others are all pure lands filled with bodhisattvas, and it was not yet known whether or not there are bodhisattvas in the defiled realm of the Sahā world. Now, distinguishing that there are also immeasurable bodhisattvas dwelling in this realm, it therefore follows next.
