Fifteenth, the marks of the horse-sheath [organ] are of three kinds: In the first, the function of the hidden mark, "illuminating the dharmadhātu" is realizing principle deeply; "illuminating the empty space" is illuminating phenomena broadly; "jewel-adorning the dharmadhātu" is practice adorning true nature to bring forth wondrous fruition. Second, in the function of one mark manifesting an ocean of all marks, it explains and reveals this name, and further illuminates and manifests the supernatural powers of all other Buddhas. Third, in the mark of the ocean of the dharmadhātu, its essence can illuminate and manifest the Buddhas of the ten directions and the ocean of the dharmacakra; its function can display its own dust-numbered marks. The above are marks of the ten bodies. If they were the marks of the nirmāṇakāya, according to the Dà zhìdù lùn on the mark of the horse-sheath concealed organ, the Buddha caused his disciples to see the mark of the concealed organ in order to resolve doubts. There is also the saying that he magically manifested a horse-jewel and elephant-jewel to show his disciples, [saying,] "The mark of my concealed organ is also like this."
