34.30

疏「或壽有脩短」者，如《佛名》第七說梵聲佛壽十億歲，月面佛壽一日一夜。《智度論》說須扇多佛朝現暮寂，阿彌陀佛壽命無量無邊阿僧祇劫，釋迦壽量不滿百年等。

Regarding the Commentary's line: "Or the lifespan has length and shortness": as stated in the seventh fascicle of the Fo ming jing, the lifespan of the Buddha Brahmaghoṣa is one billion years, while the lifespan of the Buddha Candramukha is one day and one night. The Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra states that the Buddha Suśānta appeared in the morning and entered quiescence in the evening, the Buddha Amitābha's lifespan is immeasurable and boundless asaṃkhyeya kalpas, while Śākyamuni's lifespan did not reach one hundred years, and so forth.
