5.30

疏「此或貫攝通所說所化」下，三釋所引論也。釋有二義：一通、二局。上即通也。言二義通所說者，謂貫穿所說之法，攝令不散故。故下疏引《瑜伽》云「攝取聖語」。言二義通所化者，貫穿所化眾生心行，攝取不捨故。局義可知。

The explanation has two senses: first, general; second, specific. The above is the general. Saying that the two meanings apply across what is taught means: threading through the teachings taught and holding them so they do not scatter. Hence the commentary below cites the *Yogācārabhūmi*: “It holds the sacred speech.” Saying that the two meanings apply across those to be transformed means: threading through the mental activity of the sentient beings to be transformed, and embracing and holding them without abandoning them.
