Regarding the commentary's "The answer: feeling has two..." and so forth: the treatise answers. The text of the commentary has three parts: first, specifically clarifying the two meanings of internal and external for the three applications of mindfulness. That is, for the former two of these three applications of mindfulness, each has two meanings. In feeling: first, in terms of the two feelings of body and mind. What is experienced by the five faculties is called bodily feeling, and what is experienced by the six consciousnesses is called mental feeling. The second meaning: within the six consciousnesses themselves, distinguishing internal and external. Next, from "Although the mind..." downward: clarifies the two meanings of mindfulness of mind. Finally, from "Although dharmas are external..." downward: dharmas have only one meaning, namely being mind-only. The first meaning is largely the same as the Yogācārabhūmi; the rest are all different.
