疏「先牒前總明上來修善」者，略舉修善，實則兼前智慧觀察。見生有苦有惡、無治無救，故修善根而為饒益，皆慈相也，以善智慧能饒益故。

Regarding the commentary's: "First reiterating the preceding to clarify generally the cultivation of good above": Briefly mentioning the cultivation of good actually combines the preceding contemplation with wisdom. Seeing that beings have suffering and evil, and lack remedy and rescue, they cultivate roots of goodness to benefit them. These are all marks of compassion, because good wisdom is able to benefit them.
