67.14

疏「示因招果令厭因」者，正說以因從果所以。云果過患由愛等因，應厭因故。亦通妨難。謂有問言：前之二世當世以明，何得未來以因從果？答意可知。

Where the commentary says, 'pointing out that the cause incurs the fruition to cause disgust with the cause,' it directly explains the reason for subordinating the cause to the fruition. It says that the faults of the fruition are due to the causes of tṛṣṇā and so forth, so one should feel disgust toward the causes. It also resolves a difficulty. Namely, someone might ask: 'The former two lifetimes are clarified according to their actual lifetimes; why should the future have its causes subordinated to the fruition?' The intent of the answer is evident.
