Regarding the Commentary's statement, "Because one previously attained wisdom equal to the two truths": the two truths are in the pure land division. "Equal" includes the immeasurable wisdom that all Buddhas exhorted and aroused. Thinking, measuring, observing, and examining are reflection and cultivation. According to the treatise text of the sūtra, it says, "the wisdom that skillfully contemplates immeasurable wisdom." Master Yuan says: "Vast means immeasurable; deep is called skillfully contemplating. Above, the Buddhas exhorted and conferred immeasurable wisdom, which is vastness. Pure forbearance is deep wisdom. Yet they do not go beyond the two truths." Hence the commentary merely equates them with the two truths.
