82.39

疏「今初十施」等者，言「一無向背」，即清淨中別義者，清淨有十，今但有無向背之一耳，彼當第八。「二遂求施」者。遂求皆八，今但有一。「三二世樂」者，二世樂有九，今亦唯二。所以引梵本者，不亂之言不順二世樂，以應時濟難順二世樂故。

Commentary: "Now, the first ten givings" and so forth: the statement "first, without favoring or opposing" is a specific meaning within purity. Purity has ten aspects; here there is only the single one of "without favoring or opposing," which corresponds to the eighth there. "Second, giving that fulfills desires": fulfilling desires comprises eight, but here there is only one. "Third, bliss in both lives": bliss in both lives comprises nine, but here there are also only two. The reason for citing the Sanskrit text is that the word "not troubled" does not conform to "bliss in both lives," because relieving difficulties according with the proper time conforms to "bliss in both lives."
