Below the commentary's "in order to counter the six concealments" is the second part, the reasons for establishing the six pāramitās. Within this, there are six approaches in all: (1) the approach of countering the six concealments, which is the preceding sentence. As for the six concealments, they are: 1. the concealment of miserliness, 2. the concealment of violating morality, 3. the concealment of anger, 4. the concealment of indolence, 5. the concealment of distraction, and 6. the concealment of bad wisdom. Some masters also say: separating bad wisdom into five forms the obstacles to the ten pāramitās. The Mahāyāna master does not accept this view. The ten pāramitās and the six pāramitās discussed above both belong to the fourth section, on the absence of increase or decrease.
