Tenth, samādhi and spiritual superknowledges. From "First, indicating the name" onward, the commentary text has two parts: first it explains the characteristics; afterward, from "Because phenomena and principle are not one" onward, it explains the name. The first part also has two parts: first it gives the main explanation; afterward, from "This is precisely" onward, it discriminates the samādhi—that is, it discriminates essence and function against the other traditions. Within this there are three parts: first, discriminating principle and phenomena; second, discriminating functions; third, warding off counter-arguments and re-discriminating. Now, regarding the first: "This is precisely cessation of principle" is this very school, because the essence of the dharmadhātu is tranquil. From "Unlike" onward, it is the Faxiang school: because it is only the cessation of phenomena, the mind must not operate for it to be called cessation.
