3.16

第四齊朝大衍法師立四教者，一因緣教，謂小乘薩婆多等部。二假名教，謂《成實論》及經部等。三不真教，謂《般若》說即空理，明一切不實等。四真宗，謂《華嚴》、《涅槃》法界真理佛性等。

Fourth, as for Dharma Master Dayan of the Qi dynasty establishing four teachings: first, the teaching of causes and conditions, referring to the Hīnayāna Sarvāstivāda and other schools; second, the teaching of provisional names, referring to the Tattvasiddhi-śāstra, Sautrāntika, and others; third, the teaching of untruth, referring to the Prajñā expounding the principle of identity with emptiness, clarifying that all things are unreal, and so forth; fourth, the true tenet, referring to the true principle of the dharmadhātu, Buddha-nature, and so forth in the Buddhāvataṃsaka and Mahāparinirvāṇa.
