答曰：為信位示果法，因果同舉但令生信，未有實證故，不入三昧。以十住之位入真實證故，以此義故，須入三昧方能真證，為與眾生成證法則故。為正證果德，同號佛來，印成因果一味故。前信位中但且成信，未正證故，以此不入三昧，無同號佛來印成因果。當如是知，如是信解。

Answer: It is because the stage of faith displays the fruition-dharma: presenting cause and effect together merely causes faith to arise, but because there is not yet actual realization, they do not enter samādhi. Since the stage of the ten abodes enters genuine realization, for this reason one must enter samādhi before one can genuinely realize, in order to establish the principle and model of realization for sentient beings. Because one correctly realizes the virtue of the fruition, buddhas of the same name come to seal and confirm cause and effect as of one single flavor. In the preceding stage of faith, it merely accomplished faith and was not yet correct realization; for this reason they did not enter samādhi, and no buddhas of the same name came to seal and confirm cause and effect. One should know it thus and believe and understand it thus.
