Third, what is the virtue of producing benefit through flowers, leaves, and fruits? It is like a grove of trees: the blooming flowers are lovely to look upon, causing people to rejoice; the leaves screen against the intense heat, bringing coolness; the fruits nourish sentient beings so that the hungry and thirsty are fully satisfied. This is to clarify that this stage's bodhisattva constantly performs the myriad practices, making humans and devas rejoice to see them; broadly spreads the leaves of great benevolence and compassion, causing people to draw near and never abandon them; and bestows the fruit of great wisdom to fully satisfy the sentient beings of the dharmadhātu, bringing them all to fulfillment before their original vow is completed.
