(Fascicle 64) Gradually travelling south to the residence of Samudravetāḍī in the Samantavyūha Grove, there was the upāsikā Āśā, who had attained the vimokṣa dharma-gate of the banner of freedom from grief and peaceful security. Next, travelling south to the country of Nāyuta, there was Bhīṣmottaranirghoṣa, who said to Sudhana: 'I have attained the bodhisattva vimokṣa of the invincible banner.' Sudhana said: 'What are its characteristics?' Then the ṛṣi Bhīṣma stroked the crown of Sudhana's head with his right hand and took Sudhana's hand, whereupon he immediately saw the marks, minor characteristics, and majestic deportment of the buddhas of worlds numbered as the dust-motes of ten buddha-kṣetras in each of the ten directions. Because of this, Sudhana attained the Vairocana-garbha Samādhi and gathered all dhāraṇīs. Next, he arrived at the settlement of Īṣāṇa to the brāhmaṇa Jayoṣmīya, who had attained the bodhisattva vimokṣa dharma-gate of the inexhaustible wheel.
