(Fascicle 65) Next, he arrived at Siṃhavijūmbhita city, where there was the maiden Maitrāyaṇī, the daughter of King Siṃhadhvaja. This maiden sat in the palace within the Hall of the Vairocana Treasury. Sudhana saw her and inquired of her. The maiden said: "Observe the palace in which I abide." Having observed it, he saw in each and every wall, pillar, mirror surface, form, gem, jewel bell, tree, necklace, and so forth, the entire dharmadhātu, with all Tathāgatas from their initial aspiration, attaining the Way, expounding the Dharma, up to appearing to enter nirvāṇa. [She said:] "This is the Dharma-gate of the Universal Adornment of Prajñāpāramitā; when I contemplate it, I attain all dhāraṇī-gates." Next, he arrived at Trinayana country, where the monk Sudarśana said to Sudhana: "I am young in years, and my leaving the household life is also recent. In this lifetime, I have purified and practiced the brahma-conduct before Buddhas as numerous as thirty-eight Ganges sands—sometimes before one Buddha for a single day and night, or seven days and nights, up to unspeakable kalpas. In a single thought-moment, living beings of the ten directions' realms reverently offer to the Buddhas, and the oceans of bodhisattva practices, oceans of faculties, and so forth all become manifest before me; I have attained the bodhisattva vimokṣa-gate of the Lamp of Accordance." Next, he arrived at the country of Supratiṣṭhita, where the boy Aniketaniketacarī (Svāmitrārtha) played in the sand on a riverbank with ten thousand boys; he had attained the vimokṣa-gate of the Light of Wisdom of Great Supernatural Powers of All Crafts. In Samudraniketana city, the upāsikā Prabhūtā said to Sudhana: "I have attained the bodhisattva vimokṣa-gate of the Inexhaustible Treasury of Merit. From a single small vessel, according to what all living beings desire, the four requisites emerge inexhaustibly. The same is true in the ten directions." In Mahāvyūha city, the lay devotee Vidvān dwelt at the crossroads of the market, with ten thousand attendants, causing them all to produce the aspiration and to increase their good roots; he had attained the vimokṣa-gate of the Treasury of Merit Produced According to Wish.
