3.73

經曰「猶如大乘」至「大慈等故」者，述云：第二、化德成。有十三句，略作六對。一、出凡入聖對，即初三也。乘者車也。群萌者，凡夫二乘。運凡小而出二死，聞權實而潤善芽故。二、却邪就善對，即次二句也。三、普覆希見對，即次二句也。四、摧邪歸正對，即次二句。無所藏積，即聖種故。五、無勝無染對，即次二句。無善能勝，調諸染故。六、無畏有憐對，即後二句。無邪可畏，憐無樂故。

The sūtra says: "Like the Great Vehicle... because of great loving-kindness, and so forth." The commentary states: Second, the perfection of the virtue of transforming others. There are thirteen phrases, which are briefly divided into six pairs. 1. The pair of leaving the ordinary and entering the noble, which is the first three phrases. "Vehicle" means a carriage. "Sprouting beings" refers to ordinary beings and the two vehicles. They convey ordinary beings and small vehicle practitioners out of the two kinds of death, and they hear the provisional and real to moisten the sprouts of goodness. 2. The pair of rejecting the wrong and approaching the good, which is the next two phrases. 3. The pair of universally covering and being rarely seen, which is the next two phrases. 4. The pair of crushing the wrong and returning to the right, which is the next two phrases. Having nothing hoarded or accumulated is the noble lineage. 5. The pair of being unsurpassable and undefiled, which is the next two phrases. No good can surpass them, and they tame all defilements. 6. The pair of fearlessness and compassion, which is the final two phrases. There is no wrong to be feared, and they take pity on those who lack joy.
