2.85

七、從我今樂生彌陀已下，正明夫人別選所求。此明彌陀本國四十八願，願願皆發增上勝因。依因起於勝行，依行感於勝果，依果感成勝報，依報感成極樂，依樂顯通悲化，依於悲化，顯開智慧之門。然悲心無盡，智亦無窮。悲智雙行，即廣開甘露。因茲法潤，普攝群生也。諸餘經典勸處彌多，眾聖齊心皆同指讚，有此因緣，致使如來密遣夫人別選也。

Seventh, from "I now wish to be reborn in Amitābha's..." down, it clearly shows the consort's specific choice of what she sought. This clarifies that of the forty-eight vows of Amitābha's fundamental land, every single vow gives rise to an augmenting superior cause. Based on the cause, superior practice arises; based on the practice, a superior fruition is induced; based on the fruition, a superior retribution is brought forth; based on the retribution, Sukhāvatī is formed; based on bliss, compassionate transformation is made manifest and pervasive; based on compassionate transformation, the gate of wisdom is revealed and opened. Now, compassionate mind is endless, and wisdom is also inexhaustible. When compassion and wisdom are practiced together, the amṛta is broadly opened up. Through the moisture of this Dharma, all living beings are universally gathered. In various other sūtras, the places of exhortation are exceedingly many, and all sages with one accord point to and praise it. Because of these conditions, the Tathāgata secretly guided the consort to make this specific choice.
