「佛告阿難及韋提希：『見無量壽佛了了分明已，次復當觀觀世音菩薩。』」二、正示觀法，四：初、示境；二、結觀；三、勸修；四、簡邪正。初、示境，九：初、觀身；二、觀光；三、觀冠；四、觀面；五、觀臂；六、觀手；七、觀足；八、指同；九、簡辨。初、觀身，三：初、身量；二、身色；三、頂髻。初、身量。

"The Buddha addressed Ānanda and Vaidehī: 'Having seen the Buddha Amitāyus clearly and distinctly, next you should contemplate Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva.'" Second, directly setting forth the contemplation method, which has four parts: first, showing the object of contemplation; second, concluding the contemplation; third, exhorting practice; fourth, distinguishing correct from incorrect. First, showing the object of contemplation, which has nine parts: first, contemplating the body; second, contemplating the light; third, contemplating the crown; fourth, contemplating the face; fifth, contemplating the arms; sixth, contemplating the hands; seventh, contemplating the feet; eighth, pointing out the similarity [to the Buddha]; ninth, discerning the differences.
