Sengzong states: Although the Buddha praised him above, his words exceeded what he deserved; by humbly stepping back as one who has not penetrated, the luster of his virtue becomes all the more prominent. The ocean of wisdom has two aspects: first, it is deep and vast; second, it contains treasures. Dharmatā and space are of two kinds: first, the myriad dharmas originally have no inherent nature; second, nirvāṇa is also called dharmatā; this is beyond the reach of the power of thought.
