From here on, the third [section] re-clarifies that the afflictions of the Tathāgata's mind are already exhausted. Why is this discussed? Because earlier the Tathāgata confirmed Cunda, which seemed to show affection and aversion, it is dispelled below. Within this there are two points: first, clarifying that the Tathāgata's essence is devoid of discrimination; second, from "Just as a king" onward, clarifying that the Buddha transcends the realm of discrimination. In the first part there are four points: first, relying on Mañjuśrī's reverse test, clarifying that the Buddha is without partiality; second, from Mañjuśrī's words, "The Tathāgata toward you and me" onward, relying on Mañjuśrī's reverse test, clarifying that the Buddha is without delight; third, from "The Tathāgata has no notion of affectionate fondness" onward, revealing the previous second point; fourth, from "Regarding all equally as Rāhula" onward, revealing the previous first point.
