「次第復觀十二緣」者，是其第六總相念處。餘經論中約就五陰以明總念，總觀五緣為空無我，法念處故。是中約就十二緣說，觀十二緣皆空無我，亦是總相法念處觀。就一切法皆悉得作總念處觀，非止五陰。此亦具有退住兩義，文略不說。

"Next, again contemplating the twelve links" refers to the sixth, the contemplation through mindfulness of general characteristics. Other sūtras and treatises explain general mindfulness in terms of the five aggregates, generally contemplating the five conditions as empty and non-self, which is the mindfulness of dharmas. Here it is explained in terms of the twelve links: contemplating all twelve links as empty and non-self is also the contemplation through mindfulness of dharmas having general characteristics. With respect to all dharmas, one can engage in the contemplation of general mindfulness; it is not limited to the five aggregates. This [stage] also has the two aspects of falling back and remaining, which the text omits and does not state.
