10.63

自下第三明謗所由，由無信解。「是故我說二種人謗」略以標舉，「不信不解」列其二名。「若人信心無有慧」下，彰此二人生過不同，有信無智增長無明，有智無信增長邪見。「不信之人瞋恚心」下，明俱起謗。不信之人瞋恚故謗，無智慧人不解故謗。「是故我」下，結成昔說。

From this point downward is the third [section], clarifying the reasons for slander: it is due to a lack of faith and understanding. "Therefore I say that two kinds of persons slander" marks and raises it briefly; "lacking faith and lacking understanding" lists their two names. From "If a person has faith without wisdom..." downward, he reveals that these two persons give rise to different faults: having faith without wisdom increases ignorance; having wisdom without faith increases wrong views. From "A person lacking faith, with an angry mind..." downward, he clarifies that both give rise to slander: a person lacking faith slanders because of anger; a person without wisdom slanders because of lack of understanding. From "Therefore I..." downward, he concludes and validates his former teaching.
