自下第二彰此涅槃是解脫處。「大般涅槃名解脫處」正辯其相。「隨有生處於中示現」明體起用，用即是其解脫德也。得大涅槃能現此用，故名涅槃為解脫處。「以是真」下結用顯體。寂而常用名「甚深義」，不同小乘名「大涅槃」。

From here down, the second part reveals that this nirvāṇa is the abode of liberation. "Great Nirvāṇa is called the abode of liberation" directly differentiates its characteristics. "Manifesting within whatever place of birth there is" clarifies the function arising from the substance; the function is precisely its virtue of liberation. Attaining Great Nirvāṇa, one can manifest this function; therefore nirvāṇa is called the abode of liberation. From "Because of this true..." onward concludes the function to reveal the substance. Being quiescent yet constantly functioning is called the "profound meaning"; being different from the Hīnayāna, it is called "Great Nirvāṇa."
