From here on, the third [section] asks about the practice of realizing the real and accomplishing the fruit, also called the practice of realizing the real and giving rise to functioning; within this, the Buddha's bodily, verbal, and mental practices are explained. "How, together with the noble ones, as far as the kalaviṅka..." asks about the Buddha's mental karma. The Buddha is called "noble," and the practice he accomplishes is called "noble practice." The Buddhas, the Tathāgatas, attain great nirvāṇa without abandoning the world; without abandoning the world, they enter nirvāṇa: impermanence together with permanence, permanence together with impermanence, and so forth up to suffering and bliss, self and non-self, which are likewise analogous; hence it is called "together with." What is this characteristic like? Below, it is shown through similes. It is like the sārasa bird and the kalaviṅka, which roam and abide together, never parting from each other. The sun, moon, and stars—these three are similes for the Buddha's bodily and verbal karmas, all of which are answered individually below. From the beginning of the verses up to here is the first major section, asking about the practice of teaching the noble to advance toward bodhi.
