In the third clause, the heterodox transformation did not endure long before the correct diverged and rebelled, which is called 'his reign had not lasted long.' From 'the people of the state' downward directly explains the ruin of the assembly. The assembly of the correct is of three grades: lower, intermediate, and upper. Those of the lower grade, witnessing evil and unable to bear it, physically take refuge elsewhere; thus it says, 'the people of the state fled afar to other countries.' Those of the intermediate grade are bodily gathered but mentally estranged; thus it says, 'those who remained did not even wish to look upon this king.' Those of the upper grade, seeing evil, are able to bear it, and their physical presence is no different from before, which is called 'not leaving the land.' First [the text] distinguishes and then gives the metaphor; one assembly divided into three is called the correct dispersing and ruining.
