第二廣中，迦葉先問，「如佛所說有四種魔」牒佛前言，下就作問。於中准答，問少不足，應有三問：一問諸魔以何等形壞亂正法、二問魔說及佛所說云何可別、三問隨魔隨佛教者云何可知。三中，初一問其魔師、次一問法、後問弟子。又復初一問其形濫，中問說濫，後問受濫。然今文中但有後二，略無初句，准答必須。下佛答之，先對向前所少一問，魔壞法時作是言下對向文中所有兩問。

In the second, extensive [part], Kāśyapa asks first: "As the Buddha has spoken of four kinds of māras..." cites the Buddha's previous words, and below he poses his question based on this. Based on the answer, the questions are deficient and insufficient; there should be three questions: first, asking in what forms the various māras corrupt and disrupt the true Dharma; second, asking how what Māra taught and what the Buddha taught may be distinguished; third, asking how those who follow Māra and those who follow the Buddha's teaching may be known. Among the three, the first asks about the māra-masters, the second asks about the Dharma, and the third asks about the disciples. Furthermore, the first asks about the confusion of forms, the middle asks about the confusion of teaching, and the last asks about the confusion of receiving. However, in the present text there are only the latter two, the first phrase being omitted; based on the answer, it is necessary. Below, the Buddha answers them, first addressing the one missing question from before; from "When Māra corrupts the Dharma, he speaks thus..." downward, he addresses the two questions present in the text above.
