Within the first heterodox [position], it first clarifies the absence of transgression; from "If it is said that this person incurs guilt" and below, it counters it and distinguishes the heterodox. The former part has four [points]: first, briefly clarifying the absence of transgression; second, "Why?" and below explains it; third, extensively clarifying the absence of transgression; fourth, "Why?" and below explains it. Within the first, brief [point], "There may be a monk who in truth does not violate a pārājika offense" directly clarifies the absence of transgression, just as the text below says that there are monks of few desires and contentment who dwell in quiet places, whom people consider to be sages and bow down to and praise, yet the monks do not accept this, which is called truly having no transgression. From "The multitude" and below clarifies that people of heterodox views consider this monk to have truly committed a grave offense; from "Such" and below, the Tathāgata through principle demonstrates his absence of transgression.
