Below, it clarifies what was seen; it simply adduces the matter illustrated in the first passage as what was seen. "Seeing in another region immeasurable bodhisattvas" corresponds to the king in the deep mountain: although presently studying the Small, having received the Great in the past, they are therefore called bodhisattvas; "although studying the Mahāyāna" corresponds above to although having sugarcane, rice, and so forth; from "themselves transcribing" onward corresponds to the previous words "covetously begrudging and hoarding it"; "themselves transcribing and causing others to do so" corresponds to hoarding. "For the sake of profit and sustenance," etc., corresponds to covetously begrudging: although transcribing the sūtra scrolls, exclusively expecting gifts from the faithful is called "profit and sustenance"; seeking fine praise is spoken of as "for the sake of acclaim"; solely increasing broad erudition without generating practice is called "for the sake of understanding the Dharma"; bringing others to adhere to oneself is called "for the sake of reliance"; using it to trade for the Small is called "trading for other sūtras"; "unable to broadly expound it for others" corresponds to fearing it will run out and not daring to consume it; "therefore taking this sūtra and delivering it to them" corresponds to loading rice and grain and sending it to them; from "causing them to generate" onward clarifies the purpose of delivering it: generating the mind and giving rise to vows, abiding peacefully and flourishing in practice.
