第三問答會通之中有兩問答：前一問答明其四人合可供養、後一問答彰其四人本戒具在成前合供。就初問中，「如佛所說供養師長正應如是」領前所解，領前偈中「若老應供恭敬禮拜」。「今有疑」下問所不解，問上解中若少應供恭敬禮拜。於中初言「有疑願說」舉疑總問，「若有長」下列疑別問。

In the third, the questions and answers resolving [difficult points], there are two exchanges: the former exchange explains that the four persons ought properly to receive offerings; the latter exchange shows that the four persons still possess their original precepts, completing the previous point that they should properly receive offerings. In the first question, 'As the Buddha has spoken, making offerings to teachers and elders should properly be thus' accepts what was understood before, accepting the verse above: 'If an elder, one should make offerings, revere, and pay homage.' From 'Now there is a doubt' downward asks about what is not understood, asking about what was understood above regarding whether, if young, one should make offerings, revere, and pay homage. Within this, first 'There is a doubt, please explain' raises the doubt as a general question; from 'If there is an elder' downward lists the doubts in specific questions.
