第二對中，初明生解，先喻、後合。喻中，「良醫」喻《涅槃經》，「以藥治盲令見日」等喻能生解，「唯不能」下彰其分齊。合文可知。下一復次明能起行，初先正辨，「迦葉白」下問答重顯。前中初喻，次合顯法，後簡闡提。

In the second pair, the first clarifies generating understanding, first with a metaphor and then an application. In the metaphor, "skilled physician" illustrates the Nirvāṇa Sūtra; "treating the blind with medicine to make them see the sun" and so forth illustrates the ability to generate understanding; "excepting only those who cannot..." downward marks the demarcation. The text of the application can be understood. The next "furthermore" clarifies the ability to initiate practice, first properly analyzing it, and from "Kāśyapa addressed [the Buddha]..." downward reiterating and revealing it through questions and answers. In the former, there is first a metaphor, next the application revealing the Dharma, and finally the exclusion of the icchantika.
