理資教中，初先正辨，「如闇」已下嘆經殊勝。前中先喻，「有人」喻經，「以雜毒藥用塗大鼓」喻理資教，以佛菩薩親所證理資成教法名雜毒藥用塗大鼓。對眾宣唱，「若眾人中擊之發聲」。「雖無心」下彰其治能，「唯除一人」彰其分齊。

In principle assisting teaching, first there is the proper analysis, and from "Like darkness..." downward praises the excellence of the scripture. In the former, there is first the metaphor: "a person" illustrates the scripture; "smearing a great drum with mixed virulent poisons" illustrates principle assisting teaching: using the principle personally realized by buddhas and bodhisattvas to assist and establish the Dharma of the teaching is called smearing a great drum with mixed virulent poisons. Proclaiming to the assembly is "striking it to produce sound among the crowd of people". From "Although having no intention..." downward reveals its curative ability; "excepting only one person" marks the demarcation.
