The preceding was the first [section], broadly analyzing the practice of wisdom; from 'This is called' onward is the conclusion. From 'Kāśyapa said to the Buddha' onward explains the meaning of its name, in which there are two questions and answers. The first exclusively explains it with respect to the Buddha, the text of which is easily understood; the latter question and answer treats it generally with respect to all. Kāśyapa first asks: If it is the practice of the Buddha, then it is not the practice of śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas. Below, the Buddha explains it for him: first discussing it with respect to the Buddha, it is called a noble practice because it is realized by the Buddha and preached by the Buddha; 'these World-Honoured Ones abide peacefully in nirvāṇa' is the Buddha's realization; 'opening, demonstrating, and analyzing' is the Buddha's preaching; from 'For this reason' onward concludes it. Below, it is analyzed with respect to others: it is called a noble practice because it is heard and practiced by śrāvakas and others; 'having heard it, śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, and bodhisattvas' refers to their hearing; 'are able to practice it' refers to their practicing; from 'Therefore it is called' onward concludes it.
