第二審生定死喻中，「主人還入，問功德天：外有一女云是汝妹，為實是不」，以情審法，「功德天言：實是妹」下法來現心。於中，初明死法隨生，隨故稱妹；次明生死相隨不捨，「隨所住」下明其生死作業各異，「若愛我」下明愛與憎義無偏屬。

In the second parable of inquiring into birth to determine death, "The master went back inside and asked the goddess Puṇyalakṣmī, 'Outside there is a woman who says she is your younger sister; is this true or not?'" is inquiring into the Dharma by means of sentiment; from "Puṇyalakṣmī said, 'She is indeed my younger sister'" downward, the Dharma comes to manifest in the mind. In this, it first explains that the dharma of death follows birth, and because it follows, it is called the younger sister; next, it explains that birth and death follow each other without parting; from "Wherever we dwell" downward, it explains that their activities in birth and death each differ; from "If you love me" downward, it explains that love and hate in principle do not belong exclusively to one side.
