From 'elephant among men' downward, it again explains benefiting others: 'elephant among men', etc., explains the Buddha as the most venerated among humans; from 'teacher who tames men' downward, it explains his ability to benefit beings: being able to tame the minds of beings is named the teacher who tames men; bestowing Dharma upon people is called the 'great donor'; guiding the world with Dharma is called the 'great Dharma master'—this clause is general. Below, it specifically reveals this. In the specific, there are nine clauses: the first eight are being able to know, and the last one is being able to expound. The first eight are like the seven wholesome dharmas above: 'by knowing dharmas' is the knowing of dharmas above; 'by knowing meaning' is the knowing of meaning above; 'by knowing time' is the knowing of time above; 'by knowing contentment' is the knowing of contentment above; 'by knowing oneself' is the knowing of self above; 'knowing the assembly' is the aforementioned knowing the assembly, knowing natures, knowing capacities, and knowing superior and inferior.
