6.278

父王勸中，初舉法滅，催令速去；後舉獄苦，怖令定去。前中，初有十一句文明法將滅，「大怖」已下六句之文明惡將至，「佛日」已下明佛滅後王罪無治。後中七句，初句明王身有重罪，定入阿鼻，中間五句辨阿鼻相，「唯願」已下一句結勸。

In the exhortation by his father the king, first he brings up the extinction of the Dharma to urge him to go quickly; later he brings up the suffering of hell to frighten him into definitely going. In the former [part], there are first eleven lines of text explaining that the Dharma is about to be extinguished; from "Great fear" onward, six lines of text explain that evil is about to arrive; from "The sun of the Buddha" onward, it explains that after the Buddha's parinirvāṇa the king's sin will have no cure. In the latter [part], there are seven lines: the first line explains that the king's person has grave sins and will definitely enter Avīci; the middle five lines distinguish the characteristics of Avīci; from "I only wish" onward, one line concludes by urging him.
