From here below is the fifth part: King Ajātaśatru accepts the urging, approaches the Buddha, and repents. Herein are three parts: first, the preparation of the royal procession to approach the Buddha and eradicate offenses as the introductory narrative; second, from "Then the Buddha addressed Ajātaśatru..." onward, the Buddha preaches the Dharma for him to eradicate the king's offenses; third, taking his leave and returning to the palace. In the first there are four parts: first, accepting the urging and agreeing to go, but not departing immediately, so Jīvaka presses and urges him; second, from "He immediately ordered..." onward, preparing the royal procession toward the Buddha; third, from "On the road ahead..." onward, hearing two statements on the way and giving rise to panic and terror, and the Tathāgata promises to make his mind resolute; fourth, the king arrives at the twin trees, and the Tathāgata turns to summon him, removing the king's doubts.
