「如諸迹」下顯向後門最勝之義，十二復次，皆初立喻，後合可知。「以是義」下顯向初門令善增長，於中初先乘前顯後，以前門中不放逸法令餘善增，故深難拔。「云何」下釋，先問次辯。「以增長」下結成難拔，「以是義」下總結初行。

From "just as all footprints" and so on, it reveals the most supreme meaning directed toward the latter door; the twelve reiterations all first establish a simile and then apply it, as can be known. From "for this reason" and so on, it reveals making good increase directed toward the former door; within this, it first follows upon the preceding to reveal the subsequent, because in the former door the dharma of non-laxity causes the remaining goods to increase, so it is deep and difficult to uproot. From "how is it" and so on, it explains: first a question, next an explanation. From "because of increasing" and so on, it concludes that it is difficult to uproot; from "for this reason" and so on, it summarizes the first practice.
