親四事中，先問後辯，「謂四」舉數，「慈」等列名。「因是四」下明修利益，「是故」下結。次明信一，先問、後辯。「了知眾生皆歸一道，一謂大乘」正明信一。「諸佛」已下知一為三，三而是一。「是故」下結。

In being close to the four matters, it first questions and then explains: "referring to the four" raises the number; "benevolence" and so forth lists their names. The passage beginning with "because of these four" clarifies the benefits of cultivation; the passage beginning with "for this reason" concludes. Next is to clarify having faith in the one: first questioning, then explaining. "Fully understanding that sentient beings all return to the single path, the one referring to the Mahāyāna" directly clarifies having faith in the one. From "the buddhas" onward, it is knowing the one as three, and the three being one. The passage beginning with "for this reason" concludes.
