"Chapter on the Lion['s Roar]": above, it explained the practice of cultivating through adapting to conditions; below, it explains the practice of abandoning marks and entering realization. Because it is proclaimed upon Lion's Roar's petition, the title of the chapter is named the "Chapter on Lion's Roar" after the petitioner. This person internally realized the lion's roar, and being certain to be able to roar what was asked, the person was therefore named Lion's Roar. This chapter answers the above request: "In all dharmas there is universally the nature of bliss; would that the World-Honoured One analyze it for me." However, the question above asked solely about what is realized, whereas now in this chapter it is fully revealed. Below, the explanation of buddha-nature is what is realized, and below, the explanation of the practice of seeing is that which can realize it; therefore people from foreign lands called this the section on leaving all negligence and entering realization.
