From here on, the second [part] praises it to reveal its supremacy: "such that śramaṇas and the like cannot destroy it" praises the firmness of its faith; "attaining the nature of a noble one" praises what faith accomplishes—one who has this faith is fit to be a seed of buddhahood, called the nature of a noble one; "cultivating giving and the like, one is able to draw close to nirvāṇa and not fall into birth and death" praises the benefit of faith—being able to leave birth and death and draw close to great nirvāṇa. First it is discussed with regard to giving, and later extended to precepts and so forth. The section from "this is called" downward concludes.
