1.19

住處者，聲光召請同向佛住處也，佛以佛所住處施與時眾，從佛住處起涅槃行，見佛住處乃是見義。以佛住處引攝邪惡，是為住處通序五章。

'Dwelling place': The convocation of sound and light all turning toward the Buddha's dwelling place; the Buddha bestowing the Buddha's dwelling place upon the assembly of that time; initiating the practice of nirvāṇa from the Buddha's dwelling place; seeing that the Buddha's dwelling place is indeed seeing the meaning; and leading and gathering the heterodox and evil by means of the Buddha's dwelling place. This is how 'the dwelling place' commonly prefaces all five chapters.
