The *Dilun* explains that all three Buddhas have forms that constitute their bodies, and their forms are knowable. Explaining the forms of their bodies: as the sūtra says, each and every ocean of marks is immeasurable; though these forms exist in the marks, they cannot be seen. The *Daśabhūmika Sūtra* speaks of the Buddha's marks and characteristics as the actual reward body. As for the form of the dharmakāya, the dharma-gate of the nature of form within the tathāgatagarbha becomes manifest to form the Buddha's essence. Although the essence is form, it lacks the signs of form. Just as the non-manifesting [precepts] of a monk, though being of the nature of form, lack the signs of form. It also states: when the dharmakāya arises, its dharmas are inexhaustible forms and images. It also states: unobstructed form is like an imageless shape, unlike the causal stages of the lower grounds.
