Where the sūtra states, "The Buddha told Upāli: 'This is named Tuṣita,'" onward: second, this concludes with the causes and praises the excellence of the place. Within this there are two parts: first, concluding the causes; second, praising the excellence. This is the first. Regarding the "karmic retribution of the ten virtuous actions," the ten virtuous actions can obtain five fruits: first, retribution; second, outflow-concordant; third, dominant; fourth, anthropomorphic; and fifth, disjunction. If explained in detail: uncontaminated karma obtains four, excluding the retribution fruit; contaminated karma obtains four, excluding the disjunction fruit. Because it treats both kinds together, it is said that five fruits are obtained. That is, the internal body mentioned later is called the retribution fruit; maturing fifty-thousand million devas in a single instant so that they attain the stage of non-retrogression is called the disjunction fruit; and the mutual longevity and so forth are called outflow-concordant fruits. Here, the external fruits are two: first, dominant; and second, anthropomorphic, as explained in fascicle fifty-nine of the Yogācārabhūmiśāstra.
