所以者何？若住不調伏心，是愚人法；若住調伏心，是聲聞法。是故菩薩不當住於調伏、不調伏心，離此二法是菩薩行。
Why is this? If one abides in an unsubdued mind, this is the dharma of foolish people; if one abides in a subdued mind, this is the dharma of śrāvakas. Therefore, a bodhisattva should not abide in a subdued or unsubdued mind. Leaving behind these two dharmas is the practice of a bodhisattva.
