[Seng]zhao says: The śrāvaka has his wisdom obscured by delusion, so he extinguishes delusion to become clear; his mind is bound by attachment, so he unbinds attachment to become liberated. The mahāsattva contemplates the true mark of delusion and attachment as being none other than clarity and liberation; hence he gives rise to clarity and liberation without extinguishing delusion and attachment. [Dao]sheng says: The body originally exists due to delusion and attachment, hence this is stated next. No longer being covered by delusion is clarity. No longer being bound by attachment is liberation.
