尸波羅蜜滿者，持戒不惜身命，如須摩提王，精進持戒，常依實語，赴鹿足王就死，是為尸羅滿。
The fulfillment of the pāramitā of morality (śīla) is upholding morality without begrudging life and limb—just as King Sumati energetically upheld morality, constantly relied on truthful speech, and went to meet King Kalmāṣapāda to face death; this is the fulfillment of śīla.
